I'm personally the beneficiary of many coincidences. And I appreciate each and every one on a deep level. Because I know that through them, I have a direct line to God. And honestly, at least in my case, it's almost always humorous. I love that God understands my sense of humor (He should, I guess, He created it), and deals with me in those terms.
Case in point. Once I went on a business trip to Arizona. It was the very first time I'd been on a business trip by myself. I had printed a map from Yahoo Maps. I got my rental car, and whammo! Major road construction. My map was virtually useless. I hadn't bothered to ask the rental car people for a road map. I looked in the glove compartment. No map. So there I was, wandering around aimlessly in the desert (OK, it was a populated area, but still...I have a desert-phobia). I cried out, "Jesus! Please help me!" out of pure frustration. Just then, the sun hit my face, and I flipped down the sun visor. Just to be hit in the head with a map that had been stowed under the driver visor. I had to pull over, I was laughing so hard. I mean, really, hitting me in the head with a map? It was the funniest thing ever, and I was able to make it safely to my destination.
Since then, I've been very tuned in to these "coincidences" and the deeper meaning they have in my life. My hope is that by sharing my experiences, others can tune in to these things in their lives, and realize that God is interactive, that God deeply cares about you, and that we do indeed have a direct communication connection with Him. He's there if we need Him - and even if we don't. And how cool is it to be able to communicate directly?
